Dai No Osore Dinosaur – Medium – Wonderlings

Stomp back more than 70 years with Dai no Osore, a dinosaur plush from 1950’s Shinjuku. Said to predate a cinematic age, was he inspired by ancient reptiles?

Dai no Osore, which translates to Immense Dread, is a plush dinosaur from 1950s Shinjuku.
He hails from mid-century Tokyo, a time when monster movies filled the screens, metal gave way to plastic, and shopfront creatures captured young imaginations. Is he a T-Rex? A Stegosaurus? Or a trick of movie magic?
